FOUNDATION DAY 2016

Waking up to know its 1st March. I quickly dressed up and rushed to school. Oh yes! It was foundation day, the day where LFPS emerged as one of the local school and now stands among the best ones in Karachi. I reached school and saw the assembly area covered with tent and decorations. Before foundation day celebration, it was KWIZNATION.
Our beloved chairman Mr. M. Asif Khan arrived as always looked pleasant, accompanying him was Mrs. Maleeha Asif Khan our esteemed chairperson and the Managing Director Mr. M. Hassan Khan and then, the most awaited event, yes! The cake cutting ceremony. It was a pretty exquisite cake. Party poppers, balloons and confetti blown up and there with a huge grain upon his face our chairman cuts the cake. We all clapped yelled and smile. So there it all ends, and the foundation day comes to its end. It was an amazing event sand “Happy Birthday LFPS May you have many more……..” and that rejoice the 34 years of academic excellence.

BIOLOGY BRAINY

Applauding audience, enthusiastic crowd and excited pupils were all up for the humongous biology event of the region- “Biology Brainy” every stage was different with a touch of uniqueness to it and we were all ready to ride on the journey of fun, adventure and excellence. The first level was “meet the boss”, surely a heart throbbing experience it was. The next level was “defithon” another word tangling stage. Gradually the stages passed on and the excitement in our soul increased. The field trip to Essa Lab and the plantation day taught us to cope up with each other ethically and a sense of belonging to this beautiful world. Now, it was the time to back ourselves up for the Grand Day, yes “The Grand Brainy Quiz”. Beaning faces with pride, everybody was well prepared for the quiz. Though, the competition was tough but the brainy warriors made it to the end. The house trophy went to Al- beruni led by captain adilobaid and vice-captain isbah. The winners included samreeniqbal, mahakamal and aimenshahid whose striving efforts made them achieve the grand prizes. The presence of director of rotary club and chairman of Essa lab glitered the atmosphere and melancholically the event came to an end. Tough, I am an engineering student but the unconditional love made a part of our beloved biology family.

VISIT TO INDUS HOSPITAL

Students raised money for the Indus Hospital by selling baked goods on the quad throughout the day. Altogether, students managed to raise a considerable amount of cash and items for the event, and noticed that the general mood on campus on the day of the bake sale was a super positive one.
After arriving at the hospital, an informative session was conducted in which students were made cognizant of how volunteering, donating and helping works, immensely inspiring all of us. Afterwards the volunteers interacted with angelic patients who are getting optimal treatment and our team provided them with goodie bags made with utmost care and love.

INTER CAMPUS THROWBALL TOURNAMENT

It was a dream come true for me to be a participant of this inter school throw ball mega event. The day started with a great zest and enthusiasm. Girls participated and supported their teams wearing colorful jerseys. The ground echoed with cheerful screams of supporters when their team performed extra ordinary. The girls played with their maximum energy and it was heartening to see an event organized specially for girls. It never came to my mind that I would lift the trophy of the winner team (being the captain). We all screamed at the pitch of ours voices after winning the finals.

INTER CLASS INDOOR SPORTS TOURNAMENT

As a president of sports society along with the vice president (Faizan) we wanted to do something new for our juniors so we decided to revive indoor sports activities (forgotten by smart phone users) such as carom, chess, table tennis and badminton. We organized a five day vigorous event. Believe me it was difficult as we were instructed by the management to maintain discipline throughout the event. We had an over whelming response from the students of O’Levels.
I have personally learnt so much after organizing this inter class indoor games. I believe that in future these activities will become a regular practice.

PICNIC A LEVEL 2016

For the first time, everyone was looking forward to go to schooland this was because of our yearly picnic (for A levels only) at super luxury farmhouse (Memon Farmhouse).
As we reached, we were immediately engulfed in a sense of peacefulness, the atmosphere being blissful especially after a few days at school it was a much needed break. We surveyed the place, scenic beauty reminding us of a village esque feeling. It was filled with horse statues, swings, ducks, boating facilities and the rooms were air conditioned. The pools were enticing as there were several options provided such as kid’s pool which was shallower than others.
Moving forward, we got to see a new side of our teachers that was fun loving and entertaining, the food being highlight after a tiring day. The live halwapuri nashta and live B.B.Q was unbelievable. It was so much fun……. We did not wanted to leave early. This trip was unforgettable and we really enjoyed it.

RAYDEN COLLEGE DEBATE COMPETITION

Our school, Happy Palace Grammar School, was invited to Rayden College’s Debate Competition and it all started from auditions in which 15 students from senior I were selected from which three teams were made:
. TEAM A: Zeeshan, Umaimah, Faizan, Muneefa and Umair.
2. TEAM B: Khizer, Abdullah, Hina, Nabeel and Aiman.
3. TEAM C: Tehreem, Hafsa, Fareza, Ramsha and Anjya.

These students were selected for RCDC. We had a week to prepare for the competition. Our coach Ms. Mahrukh helped us. We started without having any idea of parliamentary debate and in a week she helped us prepare so well. The competition started on 26th February 2016. The teams there were City School, Foundation Public School/ A levels, Beacon house O & A levels. So our first match was with the city school which we won. We had our last qualifier with HPGS team B which we won and went to the semifinals. In the semi’s the odds were that beacon house a levels would win from us but unexpectedly we won and proceeded to the finals. Then to the finals our debate was against city school team B. it was a tough call as by the judges. We gave our best but we lost. We got the runners up trophy. As I being the captain of HPGS team A I and my team members were very happy as we our and our hard work had given the result. We represented our school and brought the runner’s up trophy to the school which was an honor.

LEQUERE 2016

The role of claps echoed around the building as the debater made the line of argument so prominent on the table paving way for the success for the team. A parliamentary debate first time introduced was haled with such perfection that to say it was first time would not do justice. The school provided a platform for the students to polish their debating skill. It was as a whole a successful event. Teachers cooperated to mentor the students in the right direction. The most honorable member for the event was MahrukhMohsin who came to explain the pattern of the debate and judge the students accordingly.
To the standards required. Although a team won but in real it was the victory of entire debating society.

INJAZ

The team from Injaz set a rendezvous to our school’s students in January 2016. They came up with an influential lecture on entrepreneurship and its importance. The focal point of this event was to create awareness among teen agers about entrepreneurship. This organization is operating in more than fifty countries worldwide. They conducted various activities and presented a platform to the students to express themselves. To motivate students, certificates were also distributed later on. All in all, it was an impressive opportunity for us all to gain the primary knowledge of commerce that every responsible nation should have today.

The day ended up with plenty of smiles, hugs and trails of tears. Yes! It was graduation ceremony. The time to collect the reward for the academic excellence shown by the candidates of our school in CIE’s. They received their certificates and awards at North-eastern chapter of our school. The event was also proved to be much awaited for senior 2 students as they were also appreciated for their outstanding academic performances. It proved to be the motivational factor for us to perform with excellence. It acted as a spark that alighted the fire of success in everyone out there including me.

PREFECTORIAL COUNCIL

Self – confidence, intelligence and excellence are the few qualities that every council memberpossesses. They are chosen as the representative of the school who finally are expected to bring about changes in overall behavior of the other students, being the role models. The life of a prefect is not easy, other students hate us for being bossy, and teachers expect us to excel in their subjects. Inspired by all, appreciated by few but they still give their best feel so proud being the part of this council, having so many great minds standing with me is such a great feeling.
Management expects us to be vigilant and perform our duties with perfection so it’s not easy on us………. Poor soul…….. Wecan’t enjoy our time at school.

FAREWELL PARTY O’LEVEL

Farewell party was a time when happiness and remembrance were cocktailed into an overwhelming moment, one of the most awaited event of the year was a real blast. The sparkling eyes of the students and an alluring venue doubled the joy. Titles were given which brought extreme curiosity among students was met with satisfaction as most titles portrayed the true persona they possess. The stage play by A-level students was the highlight as it made everyone to burst into loads of laughter. The most anticipated time when everyone had tears in his eyes was when short movie clips were played on screen. It was a true amalgamation of happiness and despondency at the same time.

FAREWELL PARTY A’LEVEL

The most awaited yet most emotional event of the academic session “Farewell”, where seniors leave and are rewarded with respects and a little humor in shape of titles. It is an event where we all have fun and recall all the memories.
This year too we witnessed the event and it was a true delight. From handing over the titles to performances which were encouraged by the wild cheer by the audience and finally the small videos reminiscing the years and special moments we spent with our newly found friendship. Like every year the teachers were also recognized for their hard work and the best part was that even the management can be bestowed with the title. Our principal, Ma’am Atika, was the most active participant all her zeal made the event more powerful. She has always been an inspiration for many and the same could be seen at the event. To sum it up the two years I have spent with HPGS come to a conclusion at this event (Farewell) which was an emotional yet an advancing platform for me to say “Adios” and progress further in life.

KWIZNATION

There was an air of anticipation all around the school and the omnipresent topic of the moment was the kwiznation. Everyone was surprised as well as elated by the sudden announcement Ms. Zehra had once made in a school assembly regarding this special event. The event was segregated into four main rounds; to trick off proceeding we had the elimination round, to further engage the students a scavenger hunt was set up, then we had an old fashioned snake and ladder game on a very large scale I must say and lastly a quick fire quiz was taken to select the winning candidates, bringing an end to the grand event. It was a productive and successful event which relieved the students of much of their exam tension, and in the process, proved to be a good learning experience.

14 AUGUST INDEPENDANCE DAY / EID MILLAN PARTY

On 14th august, it is a long held tradition to hold a celebration on this event in our school, Happy Palace Grammar School. The day was actually multipurpose as the management had announced it as both a 14th august celebration and eidmilan party. Although the 14th August’s idea was more popular as students ditched their shiny and flashy clothes they wore. As it was a day for all the Pakistanis the teachers could also be seen showing off the appreciation for this day in their clothes.
The fretting about the show had paid off; as the students escalated from the classes they soon saw big speakers and the stage adorned with green and white colors. As the students seated themselves they were handed flags to wave when the show started. Although the show was brief it loses patriotic feelings in the hearts of the students. The hosts contributed to this by successful exciting pieces of poetry and heart warning words in both English and our national language urdu. Students who had participated came and sang a few pieces of songs about our country including “HAM ZINDA QAUM HAIN” and “DIL DIL PAKISTAN” the spotlight went to the tableau that wrenched the hearts out of students.
It was dedicated to the APS attacks. Basically it was about the terrorist who came into the school armed and the Pakistani military force takes them hostage so it was a gesture to our country and the faith we have in it. The students in the end lose up and sang the national anthem, more heartily than ever and went back to their classes. A photo session took place in the end and everyone went out the gates happy. Later on in the day you could see the comments on social media and deduce the day’s outcome which was is its entirety a positive one and in which students were happy about their decision of coming to school then spending the day in bed.

PICNIC O’LEVEL

Ever since the announcement, everybody was thrilled and excited for the upcoming picnic! At last, finally the day came, as excitement could be seen on everyone’s face. During our journey, vans were packed, noises, songs made the journey more fantastic!
On reaching there, we came across a huge resort, the Countryside Chalet. We firstly went to our hut but instead, everyone jumped in the small pool, the whole senior I! Pushing each other in the water, a lot of people got injured, including me…… ouch!!.
Afterwards, the whole resort was ours. We went around many different places such as the lake, indoor gaming area and even went in the underground cinema. After all that fun, hunger striked everyone and that’s when the food court opened and we all ate our bellies full ravenously the food and the environment was awesome..
After the lunch, boys and girls started photography and hangouts. Finally but unfortunately, our trip came to an end. But even on our way back, everyone looks more energized with all the shouting!
Finally, an awesome day came to an and on unforgettable memory came to life!!

TRIP TO TABBA KIDNEY INSTITUTE

The fun filled and yet informative trip to Tabba kidney Institute was without doubt was a treat for biology students. Students showed utmost enthusiasm and actively participated in questions and answers (Q/A) sessions and lively interacted with officials. The awareness we were provided at this excellent and exuberant institute pertaining to fundamental aspects of nephrology and prevention from diseases has proven to be incredibly fruitful for our academics. It was one of the most satisfying and mesmerizing field trip of the year.

A – LEVEL Graduation ceremony 2015

“Hello class of 2015, welcome to the Graduation Ceremony of HPGS, here we have gathered together to celebrate another year of memories, success and ………….”
Standing at the podium, it seemed surreal that another year had went by and our seniors were saying good bye. The audience displayed a mixture of emotions, happiness, joy, sadness and a littlefear, no doubt reminiscing their time together that would be their saving grace in life.
The event started with rewarding the high achievers who had worked hard achieving A and A* and definitely earning their name on their respective medals and certificates of merit.
Next the alumni’s were called to the stage, who stepped up, clad in their grad, gowns and caps, chin up, wearing a mega – wat smile on their faces. The aluminus proceeded to share a few words of wisdom as a parting gift to their juniors. The best item of the evening were the speeches from our guests of honour, Sir Asif Khan and our madam whose proud smiles and inspiring words instilled the atmosphere with a new energy and the cheers from the audience were one I have never seen. The event ended on a nostalgic note, reliving the unforgettable moments with their friends and memories and to quoted doc sues “sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory”.
